A giant of the keyboard, known for his recordings of the complete sonatas of Beethoven and Schubert, makes a rare Houston appearance. A student of Rudolf Serkin and Mieczyslaw Horszowski at the Curtis Institute of Music, Seymour Lipkin won the prestigious Rachmaninoff Competition at age 19 and went on to a distinguished career recording, appearing with orchestras and playing chamber music.
