HOUSTON BALLET UNVEILS THE WORLD PREMIERE OF LITTLE DANCER, A NEW WORK BY JAMES KUDELKA Program Features Company Premieres of Hans van Manen’s Five Tangos and Stanton Welch’s Falling Houston, TX – From May 22 – June 1, 2008, Houston Ballet presents Three Classics, Five Tangos, a program of works by three of the world’s most celebrated living choreographers: James Kudelka, Hans van Manen, and Stanton Welch. The program features the world premiere of Little Dancer, James Kudelka’s first ballet created especially for Houston Ballet, set to Symphony No. 8 by acclaimed composer Philip Glass. Featuring six chamber works by the acclaimed composer and performed by an ensemble of musicians long associated with Da Camera, Charles Wuorinen: Ashberyana and Fenton Songs includes the Da Camera-commissioned Ashberyana for baritone, string quartet, trombone and piano; Fenton Songs I and Fenton Songs II for soprano, violin, cello and piano; Josquiniana for string quartet and the solo piano pieces Praegustatum and Ave Christe of Josquin. HOUSTON, TEXAS…Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) launched a new initiative today to share a joy for musical theatre with new audiences through “Web 2.0” online communities, including MySpace and MyCityRocks HOUSTON.
